Thoughts racing endlessly through Ashlee’s head, her eyes grew heavy with sleep. Images swam through her mind, not allowing a moments rest. Tossing and turning was all Ashlee could to until, hopefully, sleep would find her waking eyes. Try as she might sleep never came. A loud crash down stairs made her jump from her bed. A males voice reached her ears. Someone must still be awake in the Common Room, but why didn’t the other girls wake up?
Slowly opening the door as not to wake the others, Ashlee found no one coming from any of the dorms or up the stairs from the Common Room.
“Hello?”
She called quietly, but no one replied. Step by step, she left the dorm and made her way down the stairs into the Slytherin Common Room, but the bottom of the stairs never got any closer. Yes, she was moving her feet, but she was not going anywhere. Noticing her lack of progression, she stopped and placed her hands on the wall. Ashlee glanced around her skeptically. How was she moving his feet but not getting anywhere? Finding no reason behind her lack of advancement, Ashlee began walking again, but again she did not advance down the stairs. Again she stopped and again she looked around him, but like before he found nothing to be wrong. Frustration gripped at the back of her shirt and skepticism hung around his ankles.
Still seeing no reason as to why she couldn’t get anywhere, she began to walk again, but a third time she stopped. She wasn’t gaining any ground.
“Is anyone there?”
Is what she tried to say, but no sound escaped her lips. Knowing very well that she had the biggest mouth in the Slytherin house, Ashlee became even more annoyed now that she had lost his voice.
“This isn’t funny!” She spoke but again no sound came out.
Ashlee couldn’t think, she couldn’t move, or even speak. Something wasn’t right, but there was no explanation for what was going on. Fear began to mix with panic. Ashlee began to run down the hallway, but still there was no ground gained. Screams echoed in her mind; she still ran on.. Tears filled her eyes, louder screams echoed in her mind. Thick tears streamed down her ghost white cheeks. One finally, ear splitting scream shattered the whole mess. It was her own scream. She was back in the dorm, tears streaming down her face, girls waking up all around her.
Quickly she pushed the covers away from her and ran from the dorms. She had been dreaming. It was all a bad dream. Ashlee ran from the Common Room and out into the dark hallways of the Hogwarts castle. She slowed her pace as she reached the front doors. Pushing them open, and running to a willow that stood on the grounds, more tears streamed down her face.
“What’s wrong with me?” She choked as she crouched there in the dark. No! This can’t happen again! She thought as she leaned into the tree, teas streaming endlessly down her cheeks, the moon shining brightly over her head.
